Bill and Lara Blanchard

ill Blanchard has a multi-cultural upbringing. He was born in India and reared there for the first 14 years of his life. Upon returning to the United States with his parents, he completed his high school years in Chicago, Illinois, and then graduated from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, with a degree in Marketing. Bill continued his studies at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, earning M.Div. and Ph.D. degrees. He also completed advanced graduate studies at Hebrew Union University in Cincinnati, Ohio. He has served as a senior pastor for 30 plus years, eight of those years as a trustee of the International Mission Board, the last two years of which he served as its chairman. Bill has traveled worldwide, ministering extensively in the Americas, Asia, Far East, Middle East, Africa and Europe.

Bill brings this breadth of experience to his understanding of church structure internationally, as well as in the United States, and is uniquely suited to write this book. He has been married to Lara since 1976, and they are the parents of three married children with eight grandchildren. Recently, Bill began a brand new church from scratch based upon the biblical principles outlined in his book. And he plans to serve as pastor of the Northway Community Church in Valdosta, GA, for the rest of his days in the pastorate.
